Summer is coming to an unofficial close, meaning we can now start to look forward to the coming autumn colors.

“I think we’re probably looking at a normal time period, which is the first week or so of October in northern Lower Michigan and it works its way down by the second or even the third week of October,” according to MLive meteorologist Mark Torregrossa.

He says the average temperature in southern Michigan will start to drop in the coming weeks by about 11 degrees, which will jumpstart the changing of the leaves.
