Douglas M. Atkinson, 63, of St. Joseph Township died Thursday, February 6, 2020 at his home.
Family services will be held at later date and cremation has taken place. Arrangements are by the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Township. Please share messages, memories or photos at www.florin.net.
Doug was born on July 11, 1956 in Benton Harbor to Donald and Lewetta Atkinson. He was a member of the Benton Harbor Moose Lodge and enjoyed bowling, He had worked at many different jobs. He also had a keen interest and skill in playing pool and did go to the Pool Nationals. Doug was an easy going and determined individual who would help anyone.
His family includes his brother, Terry Atkinson of St. Joseph Township, his sisters, Donna Burgess of Tampa, FL and Merri “Chris” (Gary) Tozian of Tampa, FL.; his several nieces and nephews; his several great nieces and nephews, and his brother-in-law, Tom Paukowitz of St. Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Valerie Paukowitz in 2005, and his family members, Ray and Barbara Burns.
