Services celebrating her life were held at 2 pm on Friday, September 13, at the Highland Ave Seventh Day Adventist Church in Benton Township. Burial will be on Saturday, September 14, at the Crystal Springs Cemetery. The visitation begun at 1 PM on Friday at the church. Iris was born on July 4, 1951 in Durham, NC to Vertis, Sr and Gertrude McManus. She had been employed at Ball Rubber Company and Modar before she became disabled. Iris and her family have been long time members of the Highland Avenue Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Her family includes her father, Vertis McManus, Sr., of Benton Harbor, her brothers, Vertis McManus, Jr. of Atlanta and Curtis McManus of Atlanta; her sisters, Joan McManus-Clayton of Benton Harbor and Alicia McManus-Jerry of Atlanta and her children, Tina and James Brooks of Oak Ridge, TN.
