
Richard G. Hensley, 79, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Spectrum Lakeland Hospital- St. Joseph.
Richard was born on March 7, 1940 in Lenoir City, TN to George Clinton & Ossie “Pat” (Gray) Hensley. His family relocated to Benton Harbor, MI where Richard attended school. He was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School class of 1958. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from June 18, 1057 until he was honorably discharged on June 17, 1963. On July 5, 1963 he married Ida Seedorf in St. Joseph, MI. Richard worked at Michigan Bell/ATT as a Linesman for 30 plus years before retiring. He enjoyed flying, he obtained his pilots license and flew until he physically couldn’t anymore. He loved attending the flight festival in Oshkosh, WI.
Richard is survived by his daughter Marion Huff of St. Joseph, son Al “Robert” (Tammy) Lopez of Eau Claire; granddaughters Erica Mantei of Stevensville and Monica (Eric) Hogue of St. Joseph; great-grandchildren Hayden Mantei, Emerson Mantei and Matteus Isbrecht; siblings, Michael Hensley of Berrien Springs, Peggy Mohn of Coloma and Shirley (Wayne) Gay of Hartford; one niece and three nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held privately with the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Paws of Hope.
