Hermine J. Grunwald, 88, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at her home.
A Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M., Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Caring Circle Hospice or the American Alzheimer’s Association. Hermine was born October 13, 1930 in Romania to Josef & Susanna (Karschti) Weber. On September 6, 1992 she married Otto Grunwald. Hermine leaves behind a loving family and many wonderful friends. Memories which will be treasured and cherished by everyone who knew her. She was a lady of grace and beauty, who loved life and her friends. The love of her life was always her husband Otto. In her spare time, she enjoyed flowers and gardening, cooking, baking especially her German torte, decorating for parties at the Kickers Club and making inlay wood boxes with her father.
Hermine is survived by her husband Otto K. Grunwald; children John (Sue) Pfeiffer, Bob Pfeiffer and Monica Pfeiffer, Peter Grunwald and Paul Grunwald; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters Eveline Gilley and Brigitte Kiesz; brothers Fritz Weber and Ferdinand “Ferdie” (Joyce) Weber; and many nieces and nephews. Hermine was preceded in death by her parents, son Fred Pfeiffer, sister Irene Schattner and brothers Oskar P. Weber, Josef Weber and Walter Weber.
