David Joseph Smith, 87, of New Buffalo, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019.
A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at St Mary’s of the Lake Church, 718 W Buffalo Avenue, New Buffalo, Michigan with Father John Ambrose officiating.
Friends and family may meet with the family one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. also at the church.
David was born December 8, 1931 in Muskegon, Michigan, the son of Joseph and Margaret Smith. On May 5, 1956 he married Janice A. Smith who preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia (Robert) Kerns and Sandra Draper both of Stevensville, Michigan; Grandson Joshua (Joy) Kerns of Byron Center, Michigan and two great granddaughters, Jayda and Jordan; one sister Margaret, and two brothers Michael (Jean) and Larry Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Thomas.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Smith Funeral Home, New Buffalo.
