Joseph Dubitz, Jr., 94, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Spectrum Health Lakeland in St. Joseph, MI. A Memorial Luncheon will be held on Sunday, December 2, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at The Waterfront located at 5713 Beech Ave., Coloma, MI. Joe was born October 5, 1924 in Benton Harbor, MI to Joseph and Theresa (Bakus) Dubitz, Sr. After graduating from Benton Harbor High School he proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Army as a Paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division. Joe married the love of his life, MaryAnn Prkut on May 7, 1949. They had one daughter, Patricia. After retiring from Whirlpool Corporation, Joe and MaryAnn enjoyed numerous trips around the country with friends. Joe was an active outdoorsman and in his spare time he loved hunting, farming, and fishing. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and enjoyed watching all sports, including his favorite teams, the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame Football. He cherished times that where spent with his loving family, especially watching his daughter, Patty, and granddaughter, Thalia, show their Arabian horses all over the United States.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Patricia (John) Bertuca; granddaughter, Thalia, and sister-in-law, Corrine Dubitz. He was preceded in death by his wife, MaryAnn, on September 2, 2008; his parents; his brother, John Dubitz, Sr.; niece, Linda Tipton and nephew, John Dubitz, Jr.
