Country music superstar Garth Brooks has announced the date of his concert at Notre Dame Stadium.
The iconic artist will perform the historic football stadium’s first-ever music concert on October 20. At a press conference at the stadium, Brooks said the middle of football season is the perfect time to perform.
“You come in here at the right time, primetime, when everything is at its fullest, at its best, and you get in there and you compete with your history and you compete with your future, and we’re looking forward to the challenge,” Brooks said.
Brooks also said he’s making the concert more about the music and hopes his fans strengthen the community around Notre Dame.
“What we’ve got is that crowd,” Brooks said. “That crowd, and the sincerity of that crowd, you put those measurements of love, sincerity and a good community night together, it’s going to be tough to beat this crowd.”
Finally, Brooks said that his concert will serve as a blueprint for future events both for him and the stadium, while not ruling out a possible return.
“I would love to go away from here knowing that we are welcome back to come play here again,” Brooks said.
Tickets for the concert go on sale September 14 at 10 a.m. Eastern time.
