The Berrien County Prosecutor’s Office is charging the mother of the 8-month-old baby killed February 19 in connection with the death of Carter Donovan. Autumn Atchley is charged with being an accessory after the fact. 30-year-old Brandon Beshires is charged with first degree murder, felony murder, and child abuse in the boy’s death. He was watching him while Atchley was at a doctor’s appointment. Atchley was booked into the Berrien County Jail at 4 p.m. Monday, and Beshires is due back in court tomorrow. He’s held on $1 million bail.
Autumn Atchley is due in court today at 1:30 p.m. She did not attend a candlelight vigil for her son.
