Midwest Family Broadcasting’s 97.5 Y Country is raising money and awareness for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital this week with our 11th annual “Country Cares for Saint Jude Kids radiothon.” Ours is among hundreds of stations nationwide collecting money every year for the Memphis hospital, which treats kids with cancer and other illnesses. It is also the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. Previous St. Jude radiothons by 97.5 Y-Country have raised more than $265,000 combined. The fundraiser is in its 27th year nationally, and was started by Randy Owen, the lead singer for the iconic country band Alabama. You can donate online at 975ycountry.com, by going in person to the Silver Beach Center in St. Joseph, or by calling the phone bank. Y-Country personalities are broadcasting live Thursday and Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. to raise money.
