An open murder charge is now in place against 21-year-old Shaquille Bunting of Benton Harbor in Grand Rapids. Bunting is accused of shooting and killing Terence Hollis outside a Chicken Coop restaurant on South Division Avenue last March. He’s been in the Kent County Jail since April and was charged with open murder, felony firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm yesterday. Bunting was originally charged with perjury in the case, accused of lying to police about not knowing the names of anyone involved in the fight that led to the shooting and saying he wasn’t there when the shots were fired. His perjury trial was to begin yesterday, but it was adjourned due to the illness of an attorney in the case.
