Police continue to investigate the circumstances of a murder in Dowagiac on Tuesday night. The Cass County Sheriffs Department says that deputies were called to a home in the 24 thousand block of Flanders Street in Dowagiac on around 930 Tuesday night to find a woman dead from a gunshot wound. They learned that she was shot by her husband following an argument, and he was arrested at the scene. The woman, identified as 42 year old Laura Jean Stinebeck, was pronounced dead at the scene. The man, 44 year old Terry Ray Stineback, was arraigned Wednesday afternoon, and it being held without bond. Their nine year old daughter was taken to a hospital to be examined before being placed with family friends.
