Congressman Fred Upton says “everyone,” including President Trump, deserves some credit for recent improvements in the relations between North and South Korea. Upton tells WSJM News he was pleased to see this past weekend’s developments.

“Some very good news here,” Upton said. “Some major breakthroughs. I was excited to see the two Korean presidents actually venture one or two steps each in the north and south. I’m looking forward. I’m encouraged. I’m slightly optimistic.”

Upton tells us the goal is a nuclear-free North Korea. If that can be achieved, with inspections, he thinks the North Koreans could be assured the aim for the U.S. is not regime change. Having taken a trip to North Korea himself, Upton tells us the country is badly in need of economic development.
