Some repairs are needed for a restaurant in Union Pier. A car hit the outside of Timothy’s shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday, damaging the exhaust hood system. The restaurant wasn’t able to open as a result of the crash yesterday, but WSJM News has been told by a manager they’re hoping to be open at the normal time of 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The restaurant is not open Monday or Tuesday during the winter. Two people were in the car that hit the front part of the restaurant, and both walked away uninjured. No one was inside at the time. The gas had to be shut off to the building, prompting yesterday’s closure. The car went through bushes that are in front of the building, but no damage was done to the inside of the restaurant.
