The murder trial for Kalamazoo massacre suspect Jason Dalton appears to about to be delayed again. His defense attorney is appealing an appeals court ruling about the admissibility of statements Dalton made to police to the Michigan Supreme Court. The appeals court declined to hear a motion challenging a decision by Kalamazoo County Circuit Court Judge Alexander Lipsey that some of what was told to investigators can be used at trial, but not all of it. Defense attorney Eusebio Solis wants all of the statements tossed, arguing the questioning should have stopped when Dalton asked to have an attorney. He’s accused of killing six people and injuring two others in a rampage over the course of several hours at three locations in Kalamazoo County in February 2016. Two of his victims were from Mattawan, and another was from Baroda. Dalton faces six murder charges among the 16 crimes for which he’s been charged. The trial is now likely to be pushed back to sometime in early 2018.
