Michigan State Police Hire Crime Analyst To Work In Benton Harbor

There is now a specially-trained crime analyst working for the Michigan State Police in Benton Harbor. MSP Captain Michael Brown tells WSJM News Whirlpool has teamed up with state police to pay for the analyst who is stationed at the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety.

“The crime analyst is there to support the detectives and the patrol operations in Benton Harbor for any crimes that occur to help with the solving of those crimes int he most rapid fashion,” Brown said.

Brown tells us this is the first time state police and a private company have teamed up to pay for an analyst. He says this person has already helped to solve a couple of high profile cases. The contract runs through next fall.
