Michigan State Police will be out in force on I-94 starting Monday as they look to keep the highway safe for the holiday season. MSP Inspector Pat Morris tells WSJM News they’re specifically focusing on that road because it’s where a lot of crashes happen this time of year.

“Toward the holidays, we do have a higher crash period during those times, and that corridor has a higher crash rating during that particular time between the holidays,” Morris said.

“Eyes on 94,” as state police are calling it, will run through next Friday. Police are looking for folks who are speeding, using a phone behind the wheel, or failing to buckle up. They’ll also be watching truck drivers extra close. So, everyone be on your best behavior.
