Man Arrested After Chase In Van Buren County

Trying to outrun police did not end the way a 46-year-old Grand Junction man wanted it to. He was arrested last night in Columbia Township after leading a Van Buren County Sheriff’s deputy on a two-mile chase and then trying to run away once he got out of his car. The officer was trying to pull the man over for speeding when the suspect took off and then parked in a private driveway. He’s now in jail pending arraignment for driving without a valid license, fleeing and eluding and resisting arrest. The man told police he knew he’d be going to jail, and didn’t pull over because he wanted to get his car home.
