Two people are recovering after an explosion on their boat in St. Joseph on Sunday. It happened at about 8:30 a.m. at Eagle Harbor Marina. The Berrien County Sheriffs Department says a 26 foot vessel being operated by 63-year-old Kenneth Lee Warren was pulling into its slip at the marina after the boat had experienced mechanical problems when there was an explosion in the engine compartment.  As a result, Warren’s wife, 61-year-old Barbara Lynn Warren, suffered serious burns. Kenneth Warren suffered minor injuries. A Good Samaritan at the scene helped the two Warrens off the the boat, and they were taken to Lakeland Hospital. Barbara Warren was later airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. The cause of the explosion and fire remains under investigation.
