A lung infection has claimed the life of former Benton Harbor-St. Joseph YMCA executive director Mike Ahern. The YMCA says Ahern died from an infection he’d been battling for several weeks following his recent retirement from the organization. Our partner Moody On The Market reports a lung infection is to blame, and Ahern died in Madison, Wisconsin. He had a kidney transplant eight years ago, which weakened his immune system. Ahern died on Saturday.
