An Indiana man is dead as the result of a carbon monoxide leak at a home in Cass County Friday morning. The sheriffs department says responders were sent to the home in the 66 thousand block of Indigan Lane in Edwardsburg about 5:30 am when dispatch got a call from someone who was feeling dizzy and short of breath. When medics arrived, they found five people on the first and second floors of the home, all suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning. They’ve been identified as 41 year old Elizabeth Weston-Hammang, 46 year old David Hammang, and three children — Ian and Clark, both five, and three year old Ava. All were hospitalized. Medics also found a man dead in the basement. He’s been identified as 43 year old Andrew Weston, of Columbus, Indiana. The sheriffs department says the cause of the carbon monoxide leak may have been an enclosed pool heating and boiler system. Firefighters cleared the scene of carbon monoxide with fans. A family dog was also removed from the home and taken to a vet.
