The governor has put his signature on legislation sending $28 million to Flint to help combat its water crisis. The money will be used to help supply the city with bottled water, filters and testing kits. It will also fund programs to help offset the effects of lead poisoning. Governor Rick Snyder says the legislation, which was approved unanimously in both the state House and Senate, is a step moving toward solving the Flint issue.

“That shows the spirit of cooperation and collaboration that can happen when Michiganders work together,” Sndyer said.

Snyder requested the money in his State of the State address.
