Lincoln Twp Home Severely Damaged In Fire

0118

A Lincoln Township home is likely a total loss after a fire Monday morning. The Lincoln Township Fire Department tells us the blaze in the 32 hundred block of Chicago Drive, along the bluff, was reported by a neighbor shortly after eight am. When firefighters arrived, they found the home fully involved, with fire and smoke shooting out of the roof. High winds coming off Lake Michigan created tough conditions for firefighters, who had to take extra steps to be sure their equipment wouldn’t freeze. In addition to Lincoln Township, firefighters from Bridgman, Royalton Township, Saint Joseph Township, and Baroda were called to the scene. They were there until about noon. Fire officials don’t yet know the cause of the blaze, and no one was injured. The home belongs to a family from out of state, so there was no one was there at the time of the fire.
