A Dowagiac man is facing an attempted murder charge. Police were called to a home just before midnight Tuesday night in the 200 block of Jefferson Street for a domestic violence call, finding a 39-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds. She had been arguing with the 48-year-old suspect, and during the argument says he pulled a knife and started to cut her up. She is in stable condition at Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital, while he is in the Cass County Jail awaiting arraignment. The suspect’s name is being withheld until he’s before a judge. Police say the two have a “domestic relationship,” but have not detailed if they are married or not.
