A Benton Harbor woman is hoping the you can help find her missing 12-year-old granddaughter. Betty Esquivel says 12 year old Betty Jennifer Gatlin left their Chicago Avenue home last Friday, November 27 to go to a movie with a friend, and hasn’t come back. In fact, Esquivel thinks the girl is still with that friend, but can’t seem to track them down. Esquivel tells us her granddaughter had talked of going to live with someone else, and was told she couldn’t. Esquivel is the girl’s legal guardian. A report was filed with Benton Harbor police Friday, and so far, they haven’t found Betty Jennifer. The last time Esquivel spoke with her granddaughter was Friday night, when the girl gave her a false address on Hurd Street. Anyone with an idea of where she is should call Benton Harbor Public Safety. She’s described as African America, about 5’6″, and thin.
