While most people were out shopping for turkeys, pumpkin pie filling and cranberry sauce, a Van Buren County woman was singled out for buying the ingredients to cook up a fresh batch of meth this week. The Van Buren County Narcotics unit was notified and intercepted her before she was able to return to her home in the 65-thousand block of Gridley Road in Hartford Township. They obtained a warrant and searched the place, finding drugs, components and a woman hiding in a closet because she was wanted on a shoplifting warrant issued in Berrien County. Police also learned that four children between 4 and 12 years old lived at the address, and notified Child Protective Services. Additional charges for manufacturing meth depending on lab tests may be filed.
