More than 2.6 million dollars will be disbursed to Berrien County school districts this year to pay for special education, according to Berrien RESA. RESA administers the disbursement of funds generated each year with a countywide special education millage, and Superintendent Kevin Ivers says they amounted to about 2.2 million this year. The rest came out of the RESA fund balance.
