Kalamazoo Airman Killed In Afghanistan

The Department of Defense has confirmed the death of an American airman from Kalamazoo this week. It says that 38 year old Gregory Kuhse, of Kalamazoo, was one of two killed October eleventh in the crash of a British Puma Mk2 helicopter in Kabul, Afghanistan. Kuhse was assigned to the 3rd Manpower Requirements Squadron at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. He was in Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. Also killed was 45 year old Major Phyllis J. Pelky, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
