Upton Scolds Volkswagen At Hearing

Congressman Fred Upton took Volkswagen to task for cheating on emissions tests at the beginning of a congressional hearing Thursday. The company’s US CEO testified before a subcommittee of the US House Energy and Commerce Committee, chaired by Upton, and Upton said lawmakers are going to find out how much executives knew, and when they knew it.

Volkswagen’s Michael Horn said that it was likely software engineers who rigged Volkswagen diesel cars to make it through emissions tests, and apologized. The company has said it could take years to fix all of them.
