A drug takeback event will be held this weekend all throughout Michigan, as local law enforcement agencies collect unwanted prescriptions on behalf of the Drug Enforcement Agency. In Van Buren County, the sheriffs department is helping out with two drop off locations on Saturday. Sheriffs DEpartment Detective Lieutenant Mark McCulfor says that everyone’s encouraged to hand off old drugs to police instead of just throwing them in the garbage.

The take back locations Saturday in Van Buren County will be the Family Fare store in Paw Paw and South Haven Wellness and Rehabilitation from ten am to two pm. McCulfor says the takebacks are anonymous and free, and you’re encouraged to empty any pills into plastic bags, rather than drop them off in their bottles.
