Congressman Fred Upton was in the Bridgman area this week to tour the Cook nuclear power plant. He says that along with him for the visit was West Virginia Senator Shelley Moore Capito, who chairs the Senate Subcommittee on Energy.

Upton said that it was the first time Capito got a close look at a nuclear power plant, as her state has none. Upton and Capito learned all about operations at Cook, the safety measures in place there, and the reliability of various energy sources. They also toured the Palisades plant in Covert on Monday.
