Crowds gathered at the Renaissance Athletic Club in Benton Harbor on Thursday evening for the second annual Whirlpool Rivalry Run. The 5K is a way for Whirlpool to help raise money for the United Way, and runner Dave Rawson said it was a perfect day for the event.

The Rivalry run has a theme of college sports rivalries, with everyone decked out in the gear of their preferred team.

Before the 5K was a fun run for the kids, and after, there was to be a tailgate party with free pizza. The Rivalry Run goes through the trails at Harbor Shores, ending up back at the athletic club. The top male and female runners were to receive a free gear locker.
