Deputy Todd Oliver will not be going back on patrol in Van Buren County. He has been suspended for five days for slamming into another car at a high rate of speed in March while trying to join a chase he wasn’t authorized to be involved with. Oliver was trying to pass a car on the left as the driver was turning in to her driveway, and she says she never saw him coming. The accident badly injured the woman’s teenage son. Once Oliver’s suspension is over, he will be assigned to court security duties.
