Coming up next month will be the second annual Rivalry Run, presented by Whirlpool in Benton Harbor. The 5K is set for Thursday, August 13th, at the Renaissance Athletic Club, and proceeds will go to the United Way of Southwest Michigan. Marianne Groth, with the SWMI Racers, says that it’s called the Rivalry Run because the theme is college sports rivalries, and everyone’s encouraged to show up showing pride for the school of their choice.

Groth says that last year’s event attracted about 200 participants. After the run will be a tailgate party with free food from Pizza Hut, and winners will get awards that include college football tickets. You can register at Rivalry-Run.com/Registration, and the fee is 25 dollars for adults, and 10 dollars for those 14 and under.
