Lawmakers Pleased With Increased Pure Michigan Funding

The latest Michigan budget put four million dollars more into the Pure Michigan tourism campaign, and lawmakers from areas all over the state say it’s worth it. State Representative Ned Canfield, from Sebewaing (see-buh-wing) in Huron County, says that he’s noticed more people coming to attractions around the area lately.

The state budget approved this month cut funding to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation by 40 million dollars, most of it involving film incentives, but added money to Pure Michigan. Other MEDC programs were cut by 15 million.
