State House Panel Fails To Advance Powdered Alcohol Ban

A push to ban powdered alcohol in Michigan fell short this week as lawmakers failed to move bills out of a House committee. Representative Scott Dianda fears that could come back to bite them because the product could hit store shelves this summer before the House returns to vote on a ban.

If powdered alcohol does end up being available before the House returns from break, Dianda is hopeful the Michigan Liquor Control Commission will step in. He is a second-term Democrat serving the western Upper Peninsula.
