A Civil War reenactment will be held this weekend in South Haven. A loosely knit group of enthusiasts are gathered at Moorseville, a property off County Road 687 that mimics a 19th century town, complete with covered bridges, log cabins, and a chapel, to recreate the Battle of Shiloh. Organizer Bob Fragala says that he’s expecting a decent sized crowd of history buffs to come dressed as Union and Confederate soldiers.

Listen:

Everything began with the establishment of camps on the site Friday, and then the weekend of history opens up to the public on Saturday at nine AM. Fragula says it’ll be fun and informative.

Listen:

There will be weapons demonstrations on Saturday at ten AM, followed by tea for the ladies at noon, and then an address by President Lincoln at one. The fighting starts at two, and there will be more on Sunday. Moorseville is located at 19631 County Road 687. Fragula says you can find it by just following the sound of the cannon fire.
