For nearly ten years, the team at WSJM has shared smiles and cheer with area seniors through Operation Poinsettia.

Sponsored this year by Sturgis Bank and Trust, Operation Poinsettia is an opportunity for area seniors to take part in enjoying the holiday season by receiving a joyful visit and a free poinsettia plant.

Joined by several members of the Sturgis Bank and Trust team, WSJM Morning Show co-hosts Jonny Reinhardt and Ken Lundberg visited eight area locations and delivered more than 200 poinsettias this year, making stops at senior living facilities in St. Joseph, Stevensville, Bridgman, and Niles.

“This is our way of saying Happy Holidays to people who’ve been loyal listeners. Visiting with them and seeing their smiles is incredibly gratifying,” said Lundberg. “We appreciate Sturgis Bank and Trust’s involvement and making Operation Poinsettia possible.”

“We know that for the holidays, a joyous visit and surprise gift can make all the difference for someone. Operation Poinsettia is all about trying to brighten someone’s day and bring some holiday spirit and cheer,” said Reinhardt .

In addition to Sturgis Bank and Trust’s significant role, the poinsettia flowers were provided by Crystal Springs Florist in Benton Harbor.
