Mosaic CCDA in Benton Harbor is preparing to open its Wonderland Toy Store for the season, a way for families in need to get gifts for their kids at reduced prices, and it could use some community support.

Mosaic President Andrew Robinson tells us they’ve opened the Wonderland Toy Store each holiday season for about ten years now.

We provide a toy to families who are in need at a very discounted rate,” Robinson said. “We’re talking about 90% off.”

Robinson says to take part, a family has to get a referral from a partner agency so Mosaic knows they qualify. They’ve helped thousands over the years.

We get hundreds and hundreds of families a year, somewhere between 300 to 500 families a year. Last year we had about 350 and we had over a thousand kids that were served.”

Mosaic is looking for contributions to keep the Wonderland Toy Store going well into the future. It’s taking new toys for ages 12 and under, gift cards to Meijer and Walmart, and monetary donations. If you donate a toy, be sure to leave the price tag on it. Robinson says information on how to donate can be found at MosaicCCDA.com.

The Wonderland Toy Store will be open for selected families December 11 to December 13 at the Victorious Cathedral of Praise in Benton Harbor.
