SHAES Raises Money For Late Paw Paw Fire Lieutenant With Pancake Breakfast

The family of fallen Paw Paw Fire Lieutenant Ethan Quillen will receive half of the proceeds from Sunday morning’s annual pancake breakfast held by South Haven Area Emergency Services. SHAES Chief Brandon Hinz was asked by us about an estimate of how much they might raise.

“Tell you the truth, I’m not sure where we’re going to wind up. Usually we can put some proceeds toward training equipment as the years have went on, but I don’t know what we’re going to wind up at. I’m sure it will be something that can help.”

Hinz says they typically had about 500 people attend and says they easily passed that this weekend.

“We’ve got a line out the door for walk-ins and drive through, and we wish we had two or three more grills. Usually we can keep up with the four that we have, but it’s been steady.”

They also had a tip jar at the entrance, with 100% of those proceeds going to Quillen’s family. We will provide an update for the money raised when that is offered.
