The Ferry Street Resource Center has found a new temporary home following a fire that destroyed its office this month. Ferry Street Director Ric Pawlowski tells us they’ve set up shop in the lower level of the Niles District Library. They’ll be able to help anyone who stops by starting this week.

“We’re going to be there for a few weeks,” Pawloski said. “We’ve been also concurrently looking for a permanent space and we’re still in the process of that. So, we’re in the lower level of the Niles District Library…We’ll be there Monday through Thursday from 10 to 2:30.”

Pawloski says the community support for Ferry Street Resource Center has been overwhelming since the fire. He notes they need everything from monetary donations to office furniture to supplies. The non-profit helps people with housing, transportation, and finding work. Anyone in need of its services can still call the old phone number and leave a message. Pawloski or a staff member will return the call. People can also stop by the new temporary office.
