Crash Leads To Power Outage For Part Of St. Joseph

Berrien County Sheriff's Deputy Don Goulooze holds damaged signs

A few traffic issues arose this morning, with one causing a power outage that has dismissed Christ Lutheran School for the day. Just after 6:00am ET, a driver from Indiana unfamiliar with the area was driving on Maiden Lane in Lincoln Township and ran a stop sign at the intersection of Washington Avenue. Unfortunately, the driver collided with a southbound vehicle and the pair crashed into and damaged a utility pole causing the power outage. The drivers of both vehicles were treated for minor injuries at the scene and then released.

Berrien County Dispatch says they do not have an estimate when the power will be back on. The other issue was a car fire on Cleveland at 8:10 this morning that tied up traffic.
