Steven Hardie Wysinger, Jr.

Steven Hardie Wysinger, Jr., 39, formerly of Benton Harbor, MI gained his wings on March 9, 2023 in Lubbock, TX. He professed Yahweh as his Savior at an early age.

He was born on November 22, 1983 to Gaylene Simmons and Steven H. Wysinger, Sr. in St. Joseph, Michigan. He graduated in 2002 from Notasulga High School in Notasulga, AL.

Steven attended several Universities where he expanded his education. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry at Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama where he pledged Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He later attended the University of Texas at San Antonio where he received his Master’s Degree in Public Administration/Policies. In 2021 he moved to Lubbock, Texas where he was a Food Inspector in the Environmental Health Department for the City of Lubbock.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his loving parents, Gaylene Simmons of Benton Harbor, MI and Steven H. Wysinger,Sr.of  Buchanan, MI; three brothers, Barron Gargard, Atlanta, GA, Santez Simmons, Benton Harbor, MI and Matthew Wysinger, Buchanan, MI; paternal grandfather, George Wysinger, Benton Harbor, MI and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Steven was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John A. Simmons, Jr. and Doretha Allen Simmons and paternal grandmother, Barbara Johnson.

He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Halbritter-Wickens Funeral Home, Niles.
