Reinholt “Bud” Herman

On Monday March 13, 2023, Reinholt “Bud” Herman loving husband and father of three, passed away at the age of 88.

Bud was born Oct. 18, 1934 in Eau Clare, to Reinholt and Lydia (Deckert) Herman, where he attended and graduated high school. He also completed an apprenticeship program in Tool & Die. Bud worked in this field for his entire career, retiring out of Bendix. During that time, he worked a 20-acre farm with his wife Mary. Bud also served in the National Guard in the early 60s. Bud’s passion for motorcycles was ever apparent as he always had a Harley. He even made a chopper in the late 60s, entering it in shows and winning several competitions. Bud also always had a convertible and was often seen riding one of the local beauties in parades in the back of his 66 Mustang convertible. He loved of Polka dancing and had stories about crashing weddings as a young man just to dance with all the single gals attending. Bud loved to fish the local lakes and was always ready to throw a line in the water.

After 59 years of marriage, Bud passed less than 24 hours after the passing of his wife Mary. He was also preceded in death by a sister Nancy. Surviving is his daughter Sherry Slavoff, two step-sons Peter and Mark Maniscalco, sisters Dianna and Freida, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Bud lived a good and long life and while he will be missed, his spirit and stories will live on!

Services honoring him will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 24th at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma where the family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service.
