Last year, Mackinac Island was voted the best island in the continental United States. This year, they want to keep the title from Travel and Leisure Magazine. Tim Hygh is the director of Mackinac Island Tourism and spoke with Michigan News Network.

“Being given this kind of national recognition is huge, not only from a pride perspective, also from a marketing perspective,” Hygh said. “It lets people know if they come to a remote place like Mackinac Island that they’re going to a place that’s recognized nationally and will probably be a pretty good value.”

Hygh says this unique place is where people like to make memories. If you agree, he asks you to vote by going to MackinacIsland.org
