“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”   II Timothy 4:7-8 (KJV)

Sis. Yolanda Gail “Lisa” Turner, 53 of Benton Harbor, Michigan received her call to Glory on Thursday, September 15, 2022, peacefully at her home where she took her heavenly journey.

Yolanda” Lisa”, as she was affectionately known to loved ones, was born March 27, 1969, at the former Mercy Hospital to Elmer Hawkins and Flora Turner.   She attended Benton Harbor High School and found her joy in employment at Caretel Inn, Home Sweet Home, Woodland Terrace, and in the service industry.    Her caregivers at Longmeadow Primary care admired her for the joy she shared after she received her prothesis.  She continued this gift of caring and doing private care of others until her illness no longer allowed her to continue this passion.   Lisa found her greatest pleasure with her dog Buttons (her company keeper), her family and friends, and spending precious time watching silly movies with her nieces and nephews and cooking!  She would give you her last if she thought you needed me helping others and their children was an awesome joy to her.

Her spiritual journey was confirmed when she was baptized and made her personal relationship with our Lord and Savior under the leadership of Bishop Chris Barfuss. Lisa continued her spiritual growth at The Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints in St. Joseph, Michigan.

Precious memories will be cherished by her faithful company keeper, Buttons; her mother Flora Turner;   Sister, Virginia “Kandy” Crump; Brother, Timothy “Slow Drag” Turner (all of Benton Harbor);  Goddaughter:  Payton Davis; Her special helper:  Lil Dennis; Uncle:  Roy Turner; Aunt:  Josie Holmes; Nephews:  Lamont (Crystal) Turner, Kansas City, MO; Tony (Tiffany) Turner, Kansas City, MO;   Jermaine (Vanessa) Turner, Indianapolis, IN, Corbin (Vicki)Turner of Benton Harbor;  One niece:  Jerrika Crump, Benton Harbor, MI;  Great nephews:  Jermaine, Lamont Jr., Corbin, Tony Jr., and Major;  Great nieces:  LaJashion, Angel, A’Mya, DeZariyah Hollinger, Aaurie, Navayah, Aria Palmer, Armyni, Coryanna; A great-great niece:  Willow Simmons,  and a host of cousins and friends.  Yolanda “Lisa was very much loved and will forever be in our hearts.
