Craig E. VanDerveer, 83, of Coloma passed away Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022 at his residence.

Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 24th form 1 to 4 pm at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma; per Craig’s wishes there will be no formal service. Cremation will take place following the visitation.  Donations in memory of Craig may be made to Centrica Care Navigators, 7100 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo,  MI  49009.  Those wishing to leave an online message of remembrance may do so by using the “Guestbook” link located on this page.

Craig was born November 30, 1938 in Coloma to John and Gladys (Kelley) VanDerveer.  He graduated from Coloma High School in 1957, obtained his barber’s license from Flint Institute of Barbering, and then returned to serve his community as Owner and Operator of Craig’s Barber Shop from 1960 until his retirement in 2022.

He had a passion for Indy Car Racing, having attended many races.  In his later years Craig resumed his golf game and truly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially around the holidays.

Survivors include his daughters, Laura Packer of Lawton, and Elaine (Bryan) Warner of Canton, Ga.; six grandchildren, Shelby, Daniel, Victoria, Veronica, Sarah, and Abigail.  Also surviving are two great grandchildren, Boone, and Forrest, along with his much loved companion, Joann Langeland.
