Governor Gretchen Whitmer says the work to replace all lead service lines in Benton Harbor by next spring is ahead of schedule. Whitmer visited the city Sunday and told residents about the progress to date. The state will continue to give free bottled water to residents until every line is replaced. Over 36-hundred lines have been replaced with copper or confirmed to not have lead, leaving fewer than 900 to replace.
