A grant has been awarded to the Berrien Community Foundation for it to help efforts in the community to reduce vaccine hesitancy. President Lisa Cripps-Downey tells WSJM News local organizations can reach out to the BCF to ask for assistance with community education. She gave us an example.

“On Thursday, Abundant Life Church in Benton Harbor is having a food bank from noon to 2, and we’re going to be providing some COVID test kits with information in there, and they’re going to be able to hand those out,” Cripps-Downey said. “On Saturday, they’re having a vaccine clinic. So, we were able to partner with them and say here, have these test kits. But there are a lot of other ideas out there as to what these organizations can do.”

Cripps-Downey says if the Berrien Community Foundation can help clear up questions about the COVID or other vaccines, then it will do so. Any groups with an idea to help in the fight against vaccine hesitancy can contact the Berrien Community Foundation about assistance. The grant comes from the CDC through Michigan State University.
