George Franklin Williams

George Franklin Williams, 81, of Pullman, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021 at his home under hospice care with his family at his side. He was born February 7, 1940 to Joseph and Nellie (Kilgore) Williams in Coleman, Alabama. George married Linda Dell Colvin on July 1, 1971. They shared 41 years in marriage before Linda’s passing in 2012.

George was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and, at one time, raising livestock including hogs. He also enjoyed tinkering on small engines and tending to his vegetable garden. In a word, George will be remembered by his family as a provider. He was a straight-shooting family man who was a devoted and proud husband and father. He was always sure that his family was cared for.

He is preceded in death along with his parents and wife by a daughter – Debbie Williams and siblings – Edward, Roy, Ollie, Lorraine, and Lovella.

George is survived by his children – George (Michelle) Williams of Hamilton, Gerald (Shelly) Williams of Gadsden, Alabama, Ann Bright of Pullman, and Bob (Timmi) Sherrell of Fennville; brother – Marvin Williams of Pullman; Fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Filbrandt Chapel in South Haven. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Don Colvin officiating. George will be laid to rest next to his wife Linda at the Lake View Cemetery in South Haven.
